The properties by the sea go cheaper

With the beginning of the new year the real estate market has been more active in the Black Sea coast areas, than in the ski resort areas. The biggest and most attractive sea resort Sunny Beach and the biggest ski resort Bansko are similar in prices, but Bansko is far behind Sunny Beach regarding the interest of the Russian buyers, who are the main market makers. According to the newspaper ‘Republika' more and more Russians buy holiday properties in or around Sunny Beach in the price range 400 - 450 Euro / sq.m.
According to a Bulgarian real estate agency - the average price of the apartments in Sunny Beach for the first quarter of 2012 is 663 Euro/sq.m, which is almost 200 Euro/sq.m less, compared to the prices in the first quarter of 2011.
There is an increased demand in the rural properties - mostly in the seaside areas Varna, Bourgas, Dobrich, as well as in the areas around Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and Plovdiv. The interest is mainly from Russians, but there are many Bulgarian people, also looking to buy a village house.
